County operations staff told commissioners they are preparing for an approaching winter storm and noted an expiring county contract and a pending purchase order for waste management.
A staff member reported a contract is due to expire in March and that county administrators are preparing a purchase order for waste-management services. The staff member said crews are readying plows and will staff routes ahead of the storm.
Staff forecast 4 to 7 inches of snow starting about 1 a.m. Wednesday, with additional snow overnight into Thursday morning in the range of 1 to 2 inches. Commissioners and staff discussed schedule coverage and staffing; staff said they will have crews on duty overnight and into the weekend as conditions require.
No formal vote or directive was recorded on the expiring contract or the waste-management purchase order during the meeting; the comments were offered as operational updates.
