Cass County commissioners appoint Priscilla Gaddis to Cass-Van Buren district board of health, 5-3

Commissioner Roseanne Marchetti moved to appoint Gaddis and asked that the appointment be considered by roll call. After a recorded vote the clerk announced five yes votes and three no votes; the motion passed and Gaddis was appointed.
Marchetti said she had reviewed Gaddis’s application and cited Gaddis’s experience leading a board of health in a neighboring jurisdiction as a reason the appointment could foster partnerships. Discussion showed at least one commissioner had not been contacted by staff about the replacement prior to the meeting; the board proceeded with the roll-call vote after the motion was made.
The motion replaced Vicky Vaughn on the Cass-Van Buren District Board of Health; the board instructed the clerk to record the appointment in the minutes.
