Board sets April public hearing on K-12 science instructional materials adoption

Assistant superintendent Educational Services presented a request to advertise for a public hearing under Florida Statute 1006.283 on April 8, 2025, to solicit public comment on recommended instructional materials for K–12 science adoption. The district said the adoption cycle would begin with the 2025–26 school year and that selected materials would remain in use for five years.
Staff said materials will be posted online after the meeting and copies can be made available in the superintendent—s office for board members to review. Board members asked about preview access and staff said they will place materials in the board office and online.
The motion to advertise the public hearing was made by Mr. Frank, seconded by Mr. Kennedy, and passed 4-0.
