Staff explained the procurement addresses a planned refresh cycle for network equipment and that doing more purchases in the current cycle preserved funding that could be lost if unused. Board members asked about product comparability and vendor reliability; staff said the switches met the stated specifications, that PC Solutions has been used by the district previously and that equipment-only purchases reduce the risk of later change orders compared with construction projects.
The motion to approve the award was made by Mr. Frank and seconded by Mr. Kennedy; the motion passed 4-0.
