The City Council made a series of commission appointments on Jan. 21 and approved all nominees by unanimous or majority votes as recorded at the meeting.
Arts Commission: Mayor John Stevens and council members appointed Deborah Wunderchick (incumbent), Brendan Ford, and Fisher Druerian (incumbent) to the Arts Commission. Parks & Community Services Commission: the council appointed Cheyenne Wright (incumbent), Jason Kamala, Jake Hoosen and Liz Dorn Parker to Parks & Community Services. Planning Commission: appointees included Jeff Harlan, Johnny Rojas (incumbent), Robert Dixon and John Zeke (incumbent); one planning appointment resulted in a 4–3 vote with Council Members Reynolds, Maher and Gamaros voting no on one slot and other votes recorded per council roll-call.
Council members commented on qualifications and the large number of qualified applicants; multiple speakers from the public recommended specific candidates. Council read each nominee name and votes were recorded for each appointment.
Ending: All commission seats were filled during the meeting and staff will notify appointees and update commission rosters.
