The committee approved resolution 35 amending capital project number 542 to increase funding by $500,000 for design and construction services for the next phase of HVAC replacements at SUNY Ulster, including Vanderlyn Hall Theater and the art gallery.
Michael (speaker) explained the funding will cover replacement of rooftop HVAC units and design work to bring systems into a unified control scheme: "The 500,000 is for, HVAC system, for our Vanderlyn Building that will be covering, the art gallery as well as the theater. And we're trying to get the same type of systems that will all, talk to each other and be in 1 type of system so we don't have multiple systems calling out there too." Committee members sought clarification whether the resolution’s language referred to SUNY Ulster’s capital plan or the county’s capital plan; Amanda (county staff) said the item would be vetted with the budget office and amended later if needed.
A motion to adopt carried on committee voice vote. Committee members agreed staff should confirm the correct capital-plan reference with the budget office before the item proceeds through subsequent committees.
