Climate Action Team members ask to engage with Warren County environmental committee

Lisa Adamson, who said she was appointed to the Warren County CSC committee, told the Environmental Concerns committee that she and a partner (calling themselves the Climate Action Team, or CAT) would like to attend committee meetings to listen, learn and occasionally contribute on climate issues.
"It was suggested to us that we might find a spot, here in the environmental committee or either maybe on the economic development committee to come listen and learn what you all are doing and perhaps from time to time be able to, say what we're concerned about," Adamson said. She said the group hopes to encourage interaction among towns, villages and the public and to suggest resources and incentives for homeowners and property owners, such as HVAC systems connected to solar installations.
Adamson referenced broader federal developments in her comments, saying this leaves work "to be done" at state and local levels. She asked for guidance from supervisors about how the team could contribute beyond attending meetings.
The committee acknowledged the comment and staff said they would provide guidance for how volunteers might participate in committee meetings and outreach.
