Warren County Real Property Tax Services staff told the Environmental Concerns and Real Property Taxes Committee that they will amend Resolution 297 of 2023 to update the redemption timetable and push the last "pay to redeem" date to July; the committee approved the change.
The amendment, presented by Lexi of Real Property Tax Services, updates the timeline to reflect new laws, she said, and follows advice from the county attorney's office. "So we're looking to amend resolution 2 97 of 2023. And I've worked with the county attorney's office, and we have a draft version of the resolution we'd like to go forward," Lexi said during the meeting, adding that Attorney Elman had explained the changes at the board meeting last Friday.
Supervisor Diamond moved to approve the amendment; Supervisor Gilligan seconded. The chair called for a vote and recorded the measure as approved, with members saying "Aye." The resolution request and draft amendment were attached to the committee packet.
Committee members did not raise further substantive changes during the discussion. Staff said the amendment primarily updates statutory timetables and does not alter county policy beyond changing dates in the resolution.
The committee moved on to other items after the vote.
