At its second business meeting of the 119th Congress, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee adopted by unanimous consent a resolution authorizing committee expenditures and approved a roster of subcommittee chairmen, ranking members and members.
The actions set the committee's spending authorization and formalized leadership for subcommittees for the 119th Congress. The presiding senator said the dollar amounts in the funding resolution reflect discussions with the Committee on Rules and Administration and thanked Senator Heinrich and his staff for negotiating the figures.
The committee clerk had circulated the proposed original resolution and the proposed roster to each committee member on Thursday, Feb. 6, the presiding senator said. Senator Heinrich, the committee's ranking member, told the panel he supported both the funding resolution and the subcommittee assignments.
The roster adopted lists Senators McCormack, Gallego, Danes, King, Barrasso, Cortez Masto, Hoven and Wyden as leaders of the committee's subcommittees. The presiding senator moved for unanimous consent to adopt the roster; hearing no objections, the roster was adopted.
Both items were approved without a roll-call vote. The presiding senator closed the meeting after the adoptions and the committee stood adjourned.
