The Alaska Legislative Council on Feb. 12 adopted the legislative drafting manual for the 2025–26 cycle.
Emily Nauman, director of Legislative Legal Services, explained the office’s role as steward of the state statutes and described the drafting manual’s purpose: to ensure bills and statutes are "clear, readable, consistent, and well organized." Hillary Martin, reviser of statutes, described the memo summarizing changes and noted only pagination changes were identified in the printing process.
Members asked for a brief walk‑through of the memo; after confirming the changes were limited and that the manual will be available on the Legislative Legal Services website, the council adopted the manual with no objection.
