Planning commission elects chair and vice chair for 2025; Kevin nominated for chair, Mario Inga named vice chair

At its Jan. 23 meeting, the El Segundo Planning Commission held elections for its 2025 leadership and approved other routine business.
A self-nomination by Commissioner Kevin for chair, seconded by Commissioner Monisha Inga, carried on a roll call vote with Commissioner Christian, Commissioner Inga and Vice Chair Maguire recording “aye.” The commission then filled the vice chair vacancy: a nomination of Mario Inga for vice chair was seconded and approved by the same 3-0 roll call.
The commission also approved the consent calendar item to adopt the minutes from its previous meeting (January 23), again by unanimous voice/roll call.
Commissioners noted the commission’s reduced membership and encouraged applications for open planning commissioner seats; staff said the application window for new commissioners would remain open for roughly two more weeks and interviews would be scheduled by the city manager’s office.
With the chair and vice chair confirmed, the commission closed its meeting and moved on to the remainder of its agenda.
