East Islip Board approves personnel actions, accepts donation and approves appropriations; settlement in executive session approved

On motion and second, the board approved certified personnel actions — resignations, terminations, leave requests, position abolitions, appointments, tenure appointments and salary changes — "in accordance with applicable provisions of Education Law and Civil Service Law," the resolution stated. When asked for the vote the board responded "Aye," and Dr. Rourke verbally recorded "Yes." The minutes record the motion as approved.
The board likewise approved non‑certified personnel actions by motion and second. During the non‑certified personnel recognitions, the board and administrators publicly acknowledged Stephanie Barber, who the meeting noted is retiring after 39 years of service, and Deborah Fitzpatrick, who will retire in June.
Under the consent agenda (items 8.1–8.23), the board accepted a $2,349 donation to the JFK Elementary School student activity account to purchase a Gaga kit and approved appropriation changes for the 2024–25 school year. The resolution affecting the JFK donation listed the revenue code to be increased as A2705.000 and the budget code to be increased as 2011102400 (as read in the meeting).
