North Texas Municipal Water District to temporarily change disinfectant in Plano water system March 3–30

The change is intended to maintain the system and ensure safe drinking water year-round, Stoler said. Plano and other cities served by the district may help move the treated water through the system faster by flushing water from fire hydrants, the news segment said.
Plano City News also provided practical advice for residents who experience skin or taste sensitivity to disinfectant changes: refrigerating a pitcher of water overnight, adding a slice of citrus to drinking water, or using a crushed vitamin C tablet in bath water to neutralize chlorine, all described in the broadcast as methods people sometimes use to reduce chlorine effects.
