Summary
The commission welcomed Carolyn Durham as the new community development director and heard that an annexation and specific-plan zoning application for Vesper Village was submitted and is under departmental review, with a potential public hearing in March and a proposed work session with developers.
Candace, a city planning staff member, introduced Carolyn Durham as the city's new community development director; Durham said Feb. 6 she is in her first week on the job and looks forward to working with the commission.
Durham and staff briefed the commission on Vesper Village, informing members that the city received an annexation application and a request to zone the property to a specific-plan (SP) district the previous week. Staff said the application and a plan of service have been distributed to departments and are under review, and staff hoped to provide comments to the developer early next week.
Staff asked the commission whether members wanted a work session with the developers before the public hearing; commissioners agreed that a work session would be beneficial. Staff indicated the annexation and plan of service are tentatively scheduled for the March Planning Commission agenda as a public hearing and said staff will reach out to commissioners to set a convenient work-session date.
No formal action on the annexation or zoning was taken at the Feb. 6 meeting.
