Commissioners abandon Santa Fe statutory right-of-way between 13th and 16th after public hearing

The Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing and approved abandonment of a statutory right-of-way on Santa Fe between 13th and 16th streets in the downtown area.

County engineering staff said the hearing was noticed in the journal for three consecutive weeks and that the city had already acted; staff identified Broadway to the west as a substitute road. The board called for anyone wishing to speak for or against the abandonment; no members of the public spoke in opposition during the hearing.

After a motion and a second, commissioners approved the abandonment by voice vote. The board recorded the motion and directed staff to proceed with the formal abandonment process and necessary recordation steps.
