The commission voted to split the cost of an additional Baker Tilly study for “Project Jonesy” with the applicant and approved the town’s request to proceed with Phase 2 of a town sidewalk project, subject to future land-acquisition agreements.
Commissioners approved a $50,000 operating support request for the Innovation Connector (the local incubator/tech park) and authorized staff to proceed with an agreed vehicle purchase program for the sheriff’s office spread across TIF districts. The commission authorized scanning of redevelopment records for the past five years and established an ad hoc committee to recruit and hire an executive director for the commission’s administrative duties.
Multiple agenda items were tabled for additional review, including an RFP for mowing of DCRC-owned properties, a Yorktown downtown assistance/traffic study request pending a Baker Tilly (bond) report, and an updated design/cost estimate for the 20 Third Street Trail (including a cost estimate for proposed railroad gates).
