Ordinance No. 2025001 authorized the mayor to enter into a contract with University Hospitals of Cleveland related to a Cuyahoga County OVI (operating-while-intoxicated) Task Force award received from the Ohio Department of Public Safety for 2025 and was declared an emergency. The motion to suspend the rules and adopt the ordinance was made by Councilman James Carbone and seconded by Councilmember Roff; council approved the ordinance by roll call.
Ordinance No. 2025002 authorized the sale at public auction of obsolete and surplus police vehicles no longer needed for municipal use and was declared an emergency. The motion to suspend and then to adopt was moved by Carbone and seconded by Roff; council approved the ordinance by roll call.
Resolution No. 2025003 accepted a monetary donation to the Strongsville Police Department. During committee reports, Councilmember Roff stated the donation was for the K-9 unit in the amount of $1,000; the resolution accepting the donation (identified in meeting documents as coming from the Construction Safety Council of Northeast Ohio) was approved by roll call.
