Plainfield board approves several assistant principal appointments and internal moves

Plainfield Community School Corp. board members approved a slate of personnel actions at their Feb. 13 meeting, including promotions and internal reassignments across the district.

Board members approved the personnel schedule presented for the meeting; the board voted by voice and no roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript. The approved items included internal moves and several assistant principal appointments introduced during the meeting.

Administrators introduced a series of new hires and internal promotions. Speakers identified included a new assistant principal at Plainfield High School, Liz Giesece, described by administrators as a dean who has worked in the building for two years and was appointed to an assistant principal role. The board also introduced other internal moves including Ryan King (introduction for a placement next year), Colleen (to a Hearts Creek assignment), and Karen (introduced by staff). District staff described another appointment—identified as Bridal Severall—as an interim assistant principal and district instructional coach who had previously supported staff and families in challenging situations.

At least one administrator referred to the district’s practice of hiring from within and praised the appointees’ experience in district schools. No individual board member votes were recorded; administrators thanked the board for approval and employees addressed the board briefly.
