CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — The Carroll County Board of Education on Feb. 13 approved instructional calendars for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 school years and later approved personnel actions after an executive session.
Superintendent Scott Cowart told the board the calendars were developed with input from students, staff and parents and that the significant change recommended by teachers was moving the school-year start day from Friday to Thursday. “The biggest one that resulted in a change was the changing of the starting of school from a Friday to a Thursday,” Cowart said. “That was strongly recommended by the teachers.”
