Library Board approves minutes, officer slate and several procedural items

The board approved the minutes of the Nov. 14 special meeting with three members voting yes and one abstention. The board approved the minutes of the Dec. 12 regular meeting (final roll call recorded as passing). The trustees adopted the 2025 officer slate by roll call vote. The board appointed Trustee Dean Serwin as the board’s 2025 liaison to the Friends of the Library and later voted to recommend to City Council that the council formally appoint Serwin as the trustees’ representative on the library/community center ad hoc committee. The board also voted to open the library late on Feb. 27 (opening at 1:00 p.m. rather than the usual 10:00 a.m.) to accommodate an on-site consultant workshop.
Each motion was recorded by roll call. For the Nov. 14 special-meeting minutes, the tally was: Annie Chang Long — yes; Ed Pearson — yes; Minson Meeker — yes; Dean Serwin — abstain (motion approved). For the officer slate, liaison appointment, ad hoc recommendation and Feb. 27 late opening, recorded roll calls show unanimous recorded yes votes from trustees present (Annie Chang Long, Ed Pearson, Minson Meeker and Dean Serwin) and the motions passed.
