The Wilsonville Planning Commission elected Commissioner Nicole Hendricks as chair and Commissioner Jennifer Willard as vice chair at the Feb. 12 meeting following nominations and roll‑call voting.
Nominations opened for chair and two commissioners were nominated. After a roll‑call vote the commission "unanimously elect[ed] Commissioner Hendricks" as chair. The tally recorded during the meeting was 6 in favor, 0 opposed.
The commission then held nominations for vice chair. Commissioner Jennifer Willard was nominated and a roll‑call vote produced Commissioner Willard as vice chair; during the vice‑chair roll call one commissioner stated a desire to abstain during the voting process before the result was announced. The commission confirmed the vice‑chair selection in the meeting.
Why it matters: leadership positions determine which commissioners run hearings, set meeting procedures and often shepherd future work‑plan items; the newly elected officers will preside over follow‑up work sessions and public hearings for items such as the Basalt Creek master plan.
Procedure details: staff read the election rules to the commission before nominations. Nominations did not require seconds; if a nominee declines the nomination they may withdraw. If no nominee receives a majority, the commission will repeat voting rounds until a majority is achieved. After the vice‑chair vote, commissioners moved to adjourn and the meeting ended at approximately 7:13 p.m.
