Warren County jail reentry programs earn high marks in Feb. audit, officials say

Warren County Fiscal Court on Feb. 13 heard results of a Feb. 4 audit of the Warren County Regional Jail’s reentry programs, which county officials said returned an overall program score of 99% and a records audit score of 100%.

The jailer told the court the audit was conducted by the Kentucky Department of Corrections; the jail is also inspected twice a year by the Bureau of Prisons and by the U.S. Marshals Service because of related programs and funding streams. He said financial audits are also performed and that the Department of Corrections observers reviewed seven evidence‑based programs taught at the jail.
Captain Doug Miles and Deputy Maggie Hutton were identified as the instructors observed. The jailer said auditors deducted one point across the classes observed, resulting in a 99% program score — an outcome he described as "outstanding" and uncommon based on his knowledge of other counties’ results. The court publicly praised jail staff for the audit results.
