FRANKLIN — Members of the City of Franklin Board of Public Works on Feb. 11 discussed plans for a memorial to the late Jim Bartnicki. Board member Ken Skoronski said he had spoken with the family and that they favored a park bench; other members said a bench paired with a tree and a plaque would be appropriate if Forestry approves the tree species and location.
Skoronski, who said he is a personal friend of the family, reported the family’s preference for a bench. Other members recommended Forestry suggest suitable tree species, and some suggested involving local Boy Scout or Girl Scout troops in a dedication or supporting activities around the memorial.
No final decision was made. The board agreed to keep the item on future agendas and noted that any installation would wait until spring.
