Board hears update: Civiltech selected to negotiate Pute's Pathways engineering contract pending WisDOT approval

FRANKLIN — City engineering staff and board members reported on Feb. 11 that Civiltech was selected from seven firms that submitted statements of qualification to perform engineering for the Pute's Pathways project; the recommendation to the Board of Public Works is pending final approval by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Highway Superintendent Kevin Schleeder said staff and a review group including the city engineer and a Grama consultant met and selected Civiltech. "It was decided that Civiltech, which is a firm, 1 of the 7 firms that had put in a request was selected," Schleeder said. The engineering department will begin negotiations with the firm, Schleeder added.
The board agreed that the item should not return to the agenda each month while negotiations proceed; members said the board will revisit the item only when engineering has a developed recommendation or other materials to present.
No formal action was taken at the Feb. 11 meeting; final contract approval remains contingent on WisDOT’s process and any required city approvals.
