The Framingham City Appointment Subcommittee on Feb. 3 voted unanimously to forward the nomination of Cynthia Cobb to the full City Council for a seat on the Council on Aging. The subcommittee noted Cobb’s residence in Precinct 19, District 3; the appointment would run through June 30, 2027 according to the nomination presented at the meeting.
Cobb, who told the subcommittee she has lived in Framingham for about 40 years, described long experience caring for older adults. “This is something I'm I'm feeling I feel passionate about,” she said, adding that she had cared for her mother until age 97 and is currently assisting an aging friend.
Subcommittee members praised Cobb’s lived experience with aging-in-place issues and said the Council on Aging benefits from active, community-based members. Councilor Wesley Leslie White Harvey and other subcommittee members noted the council’s regular activity, including upcoming events such as the senior heroes awards that the Council on Aging oversees.
The subcommittee recorded affirmative votes from Wesley Leslie White Harvey, George King and Janet Limbruno and forwarded Cobb’s nomination to the full City Council for confirmation.
