The Framingham City Appointment Subcommittee on Feb. 3 voted unanimously to forward the nomination of Forrest Harrington to the full City Council for a seat on the Bikes, Pedestrians and Trails Committee. The appointment, if approved by the council, would run through June 30, 2027.
Harrington, who the subcommittee noted is a resident of Precinct 27 in District 2, described himself as an engineer, avid cyclist and outdoor enthusiast. “I bike. I run. And I'm I'm very much from a small community, so I like to be part of the community,” Harrington said, adding that he moved to Framingham in 2017 and that his wife is a teacher.
The nomination was discussed briefly by subcommittee members, who praised Harrington’s active use of city trails and roads and cited his commuter cycling experience as a practical perspective on safety and flow. No objections were raised during the meeting. The subcommittee chair called for a vote and recorded affirmative votes from George King, Councilor Wesley Leslie White Harvey and Janet Limbruno.
The subcommittee’s action forwards Harrington’s name to the full City Council for final approval. Subcommittee members indicated they expect the council to act on the nomination; the council’s review and final vote were not part of the Feb. 3 session.
