Framingham CPC debuts interactive map of approved projects on city website

The Framingham Community Preservation Committee on Jan. 13 showed members a new interactive map on the city website that displays approved CPC projects, photos and brief descriptions.
Heather said she worked with the city webmaster to publish the map. "The map shows all the approved projects," she said, and clicking a project opens an image, short description and category. Committee members suggested small enhancements, including adding the CPC project number and approval year and turning the project number into a hyperlink to the full application and file.
Several committee members praised the tool as user-friendly and useful for showing geographic distribution of CPC investments across the city. Staff said the webmaster plans to reuse the map framework for other departments and to add links and metadata per the committee's suggestions.
Ending: The map is live on the CPC page of the Framingham city website; staff will add requested fields such as project number and year and supply a short user note for the public on what the map shows and how to access full project files.
