The Framingham City Council finance subcommittee on Jan. 7 discussed how to review the proposed FY26 capital budget and agreed to invite departments to present proposals at upcoming meetings.
Committee members had no substantive objections to the proposed approach of scheduling individual departmental briefings and asked staff to propose time limits for presentations so hearings remain equitable. The chair noted the subcommittee meets on alternate weeks from the full council and listed Jan. 28 and Feb. 11 as upcoming meeting dates for capital hearings.
No formal decisions about specific capital projects were made at the Jan. 7 session; the committee directed staff to prepare a schedule of departmental appearances and to propose uniform presentation lengths to ensure an even review process.
