City completes human-trafficking training for employees; state 100% Club certification pending

The City of Sebastian announced on Feb. 12 that all current city employees have completed human-trafficking training and that the city has submitted an application to the Florida state attorney general’s office for recognition in the 100% Club.
City Manager Benton told the council that the training is now part of new-employee orientation and that he had received confirmation from the state attorney general’s office that Sebastian meets the requirements; the city is awaiting an official certificate naming it a 100% Club member.

The 100% Club recognizes jurisdictions that require human-trafficking awareness training for employees who may encounter trafficking victims. The training and policy change make awareness part of routine onboarding for city staff.
