Witnesses stress importance of diagnostic labs and Mercy's AI tools in detecting disease

Carlson described combining screening tools with targeted diagnostic procedures such as breast MRI to improve early detection. Using breast cancer as an example, Carlson said a survey can sort patients who would benefit from more than a mammogram and that “they have a lot greater sensitivity, for picking up early breast cancers with that.” Carlson added that the combination of screening and diagnostic testing is “extremely important.”
