The Norris School District Board approved moving human-resources, absence management and timekeeping functions to Red Rover, replacing Frontline and the existing TMS system.
Administrators told the board that the district had convened a team of users from each building (including HR and front-office staff) to evaluate options. Red Rover was the group’s preferred solution because it consolidates recruiting, absence management and time/timekeeping into one platform and was judged more user-friendly than the current combination of tools.
The district currently pays roughly $17,000 per year for Frontline and TMS. Negotiators reported that Red Rover’s recurring annual cost was negotiated to $18,100 per year after implementation; the company agreed to split implementation payments so the initial investment could be spread across budget years. The implementation plan includes a one-time software/setup charge that will be split per the timeline discussed; administrators noted overlap with existing vendor contracts during the transition.
Administrators emphasized training and implementation support, naming staff members who will lead the rollout. Board members asked about vendor longevity and software updates; the administration said Red Rover is a newer company that markets itself on product development and that the district negotiated a service agreement that includes ongoing updates and support.
The board authorized the purchase and implementation and asked staff to return with an implementation update and training schedule.
