The rewrite responds to what staff described as a recent uptick in animal-bite complaints and seeks to modernize definitions, enforcement tools and penalties. Village staff and the village attorney said the draft updates include changes to leash requirements, dangerous-animal investigation and appeals, registration and vaccination clarifications, and standards for the handling of deceased animals.
