At the Feb. 11 Mill Creek City Council meeting the body approved appointments and routine consent items.
Design Review Board appointments: Councilmember Duque moved to appoint Rasha Yunnan and Yamini Bhatt to the Design Review Board for three-year terms ending May 31, 2028. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously (6-0) with one member absent. Duque said the nominees were interviewed and had community experience and interest in improving the city—s design review process.
Consent agenda and routine approvals: The council approved the consent agenda by unanimous vote (6-0), which included two resolutions to declare surplus the listed items in the police fleet and public works equipment (lists included in the meeting packet), approval of checks numbered 68284 through 68459 and ACH/wire transfers totaling $2,138,401.31, payroll and benefit ACH payments totaling $286,956.16, and City Council meeting minutes from Jan. 7, 2025. The audit committee reported no exceptions for those items.
Procedural motions: The council also voted to excuse Councilmember Cavallari, cited as ill, and to extend the meeting time during the evening. No additional formal ordinances or policy actions were adopted during the roll-call votes in this segment.
The council will continue substantive policy work in follow-up study sessions on financial policies and planning items discussed later in the same meeting.
