He said the facility has used advances on the expected real-estate levy and that cash flow remains tight: payroll, IMRF, workers’ compensation and vendor payments are near-term concerns.
The administrator asked the county treasurer to provide comparative monthly deposit data and said he will work with Quality Healthcare Resources to establish clear monthly collections and aging reports. The committee asked for quarterly balance sheets, income statements and cash-flow analyses beginning in the next quarter; Marcos agreed to pursue those reports and to request the vendor’s collections metrics.
On staffing programs, Marcos said a state CNA program has been used by nearby for-profit facilities and that union representative Cody Dorns raised the topic; Marcos said he would reapproach state resources to evaluate program participation locally. He also said he is pursuing an agreement with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to restore veteran benefits and will coordinate outreach to VFW, American Legion and AMVETS chapters if letters of support would help secure the agreement.
Committee members repeatedly asked for clearer month-to-month financial reporting and for department heads to identify additional cost reductions; Marcos said he will increase oversight of department heads and bring proposed budget tracking to the committee.
