Construction update: temporary roadway, concession stand and field drainage underway at RCM site

A construction representative reported the contractor has tracked weather days and that wet conditions have slowed some earthwork, but work is advancing: a temporary access road to divert bus traffic should be in place in roughly “2 and a half, 3 weeks somewhere in there,” the representative said, after which building foundations will follow. The representative said the concession stand work has been reprioritized so it will be erected before the building foundations are complete.
Site work details provided included excavation of blasted rock areas, installation of subdrainage on the field, continuation of foundation wall and retaining-wall work, and initial assembly of new mechanical rooms and slab rough-ins. The project representative told the board that crews are now excavating through shot rock in the roadway area, which has reduced delays and increased progress.
Board members asked whether any issues warranted concern. The representative replied there were “no” super-concerning problems at present, but reiterated that weather remains a scheduling factor and that some contractors take formal weather days while others continue working in rain.
