Council approves catering license and two resolutions; unanimous votes

The Fond du Lac City Council on Feb. 12 unanimously approved three items: a Class B fermented malt beverage license for Annie’s Fountain City Catering LLC to operate at the Fond du Lac County campus, Resolution No. 9,165 adopting the North Main Corridor Plan, and Resolution No. 9,166 authorizing taxable industrial development revenue bond financing for two projects.
City Clerk Miss Hefter told the council that Annie’s Fountain City Catering LLC, agent Anne Sauble, has an approved memorandum of understanding with Fond du Lac County to be the county’s designated concessionaire at 400 University Drive and “has applied for a class b liquor license with the department of revenue,” and that background checks and the city alcohol-license committee recommended approval. The council approved the license on a motion by Mr. Godfrey, seconded by Mr. Heisler; the item passed unanimously.
City Manager Mr. Moore introduced Resolution No. 9,165, which the staff described as a way to “memorialize your conversation from mid November” and to guide vision for the Saputo site at North Main and Scott streets. Council member Mr. Schisler moved the resolution; Mr. Heisler seconded. The resolution passed unanimously.
Community Development Director Ms. Benson summarized Resolution No. 9,166 as final authorization for taxable industrial revenue bonds to be issued as conduit financing for the Johnson Crossing redevelopment (referred to in discussion as Festival Foods and a clinic tenant). Benson said the city acts only as a conduit and that there is “absolutely no liability whatsoever to the city.” The council moved the resolution on a motion by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Heisler; it passed unanimously.
