School board reviews proposed revisions to multiple policies, considers new academic-honesty policy

The school board met in a workshop to review proposed updates to a package of district policies, including a newly recommended academic-honesty policy that board staff said was prompted by developments in artificial intelligence.

The revisions cover career and technical education (Policy 2421), the summer program (Policy 2440), exceptional student education (Policy 2460), selection and adoption of instructional materials (Policies 2520/2521), the state objection form for instructional materials challenges (Policy 2522), recommended deletion of an audiovisual-use policy (Policy 2540), academically high-performing districts (Policy 2700), outside activities of staff (Policy 3231), withdrawal from school (Policy 5130), student progression (Policies 5410 and 5410.01), credits from other schools (Policy 5463), the GED policy (Policy 5465), and a proposed new academic-honesty policy (Policy 5505).
