Tennessee House honors Macon County High School after TSSAA 4A state championship

The Tennessee House of Representatives recognized members of the Macon County High School football team during floor time, praising the team for winning the TSSAA 4A state championship on Dec. 7.
Representative Kelly Kiesling introduced the team and invited members and the gallery to stand in their honor. “We could not be prouder of this group,” Kiesling said, identifying the players, coaches and community supporters on the House floor.
Senator Yeager joined Kiesling at the well and thanked the players and coaches for their perseverance and dedication, saying their statewide victory reflected hard work and leadership. Head coach Kyle Shoulders addressed the chamber and thanked legislators for the invitation, describing Macon County as a close-knit community and praising the team’s unity. “Togetherness ... really speaks volumes for our guys, our community,” Shoulders said.
Coach Shoulders apologized that the team arrived late for the appearance and expressed appreciation for the recognition. Representatives invited the team for a group photo at the well following the remarks.
The ceremony was brief and ceremonial; no formal legislative action or funding was proposed on the floor during the recognition. The House returned to its calendar business after the photo opportunity.
