The TIPS Committee of the City of Stonecrest voted to name Councilmember Alicia Washington as vice chair and approved an amended meeting agenda Thursday. The committee also deferred approval of the prior meeting minutes to the next meeting.
Chair called for nominations after announcing an amendment to place the selection of a vice chair at the top of the agenda. A committee member nominated Alicia Washington; Washington said, “I accept.” The nomination was moved and seconded and approved. A staff member reported the result: “It is 3 to it's 3 yays, 0 nays, 1 abstention. Councilwoman Washington abstains.”
The committee first moved to approve the agenda as amended to include the vice chair selection and then voted to defer approval of meeting minutes from the previous meeting until the next committee session. The motions to approve the agenda and to defer the minutes were properly moved and seconded and carried by voice vote; specific tallies for the agenda and minutes votes were not recorded in the meeting transcript.
The committee chair closed public comment after no members of the public requested to speak and continued with the meeting’s business. Approval of minutes will be revisited at the committee’s next meeting.
