The lack of a quorum was recorded at the start of the session, when the clerk noted “we have 6 members present, 36 absent excused.” The Assembly then received a message from the Senate delivered by Sherry L. Rodriguez, assistant secretary of the Senate, who said, “the senate on this day passed assembly bill number 1 71.”
Shortly after the message, an Assembly member identified in the transcript as Assembly member Howdy said, “Thank you mister speaker. I move to adjourn without a quorum until Monday, February 17 at the hour of 11:30AM.” The clerk later announced, “Assembly member Hategui has moved that the assembly stand adjourn until Monday, 02/17/2025 at the hour of 11:30AM,” and the motion was approved by voice vote. The clerk recorded the result with the words, “All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Any opposed, nay? Motion carries.”
There was no roll-call vote recorded and no formal tally of individual yeas and nays in the transcript. The assembly speaker then declared, “We are adjourned.”
