The Malden Planning Board voted Feb. 12 to endorse an Approval Not Required (ANR) plan that merges two church-owned parcels at 594 Pleasant Street (Immaculate Conception Church) and transfers about 514 square feet from the parking-lot parcel to a residential parcel on Saint Mary Street.
Planning Department staff explained the merger and transfer were purely reconfigurations of lot lines among parcels with common ownership by the Archdiocese. Michelle said the parking-lot and church parcels are already used as a single site; the proposal merges the two lots and conveys a narrow strip to 3032 Saint Mary Street to provide driveway access to that home.
Why it matters: the adjustment clarifies lot boundaries for municipal records and does not create any new frontage or subdivision requiring further review. Michelle recommended that the board approve and endorse the ANR plan.
The motion to approve and endorse the ANR plan was made by Diane Chuha and seconded by Ken Antonucci. The board voted unanimously in favor; the motion carried. Board members signed the endorsed plan during the meeting.
