Thomas Callahan, attorney for the petitioner, asked the board to table the matter so the hearing can proceed with all members present. The board discussed whether to waive rules or find exigent circumstances; the members agreed to honor the petitioner’s request and to mail a new notice to abutters. Planning staff estimated approximately 160–170 property owners receive mailed notice for such hearings.
Why it matters: the petition would amend prior special permits (case numbers 96‑43 and 93‑18) to allow medical-center and general office uses at the preexisting nonconforming property in the Residence B zoning district; tabling delays substantive consideration and public comment until the rescheduled hearing.
The motion to table was made by Planning Board member Eric McCush and seconded by Ken Antonucci. In a roll-call vote the board recorded affirmative votes from Ken Antonucci, Diane Chuha, Patrick Hayes, Eric Henry, Eric McCush, Ronnie Rajarama and Chuck Ayovan; the chair announced the tabling was granted. Staff said the item is tentatively scheduled for March 12 but cautioned that known absences for that date may push the matter further to April.
The board directed staff to send a new mailed notice to abutters when the rescheduled hearing date is set. The petitioner confirmed they would expect to pursue a full hearing at the next available meeting with a complete board.
