At the start of the joint finance and appropriations committee meeting on Feb. 12, the committee approved, by unanimous consent, a technical correction to the public schools program maintenance bill specifying the per-support-unit health insurance distribution amount.
Jared Tatro, deputy division manager for Legislative Services Budget and Policy Analysis Division, explained that the budget language must specify the dollar amount the Department of Education should distribute per support unit; the corrected amount is $21,902 per support unit (the prior figure had been $21,901.50 and required rounding). A committee member requested unanimous consent to accept the calculated per-support-unit health insurance amount and include it in the program maintenance bill; there was no objection and the chair ordered it so.
