Inland Compassion reports housing placements, outreach activity in Moreno Valley pilot program

James Armour, president of Inland Compassion, presented the organization's annual impact report during the public comment period and described operations under a local homeless pilot program.
Armour reported the organization served 1,730 individuals over the past year and that 659 of those were unhoused. He said the program housed 80 individuals during the prior year and that in the most recent month Inland Compassion housed 11 people and served 66 unhoused individuals. The group also recorded 25 outreach sessions and said it plans to double that number by creating two outreach teams.
Armour said the program makes referrals to partner organizations including County social services, Inland Empire Health Plan, Coachella Valley Rescue Mission and Lutheran Social Services. He reported Inland Compassion provided 85 mental health referrals and 42 substance-use referrals over the year and described ongoing case management, outreach and a new seniors meal redistribution partnership with Meals on Wheels.
Armour concluded by saying he had provided printed copies of the impact report to council and staff. His remarks were delivered during public comment and did not prompt formal council action during the meeting.
