Commissioners approve two special-event liquor permits for Friends of Perry Mansfield

The Routt County Board of Commissioners voted Jan. 28 to approve and authorize two special-event liquor permits for Friends of Perry Mansfield to be held Feb. 15 and Feb. 22, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 40755 County Road 36, Steamboat Springs.
County clerk’s office staff explained the special-event permits are an intermediary process between the state liquor authority and qualifying nonprofits; nonprofits are allowed up to 15 event days per calendar year. The clerk’s office reported investigation notices had been sent to potentially impacted entities and payments had been received for the two events.
A commissioner moved to approve and authorize the board to sign the special-events liquor permits; another commissioner seconded the motion. The board voted in favor by voice; the clerk will finalize signatures and the permits will be issued.
County staff noted that new licenses and special-event permits are handled through a public hearing process and are not placed on consent; renewals of existing licenses are typically placed on consent. Property posting and public-notice requirements were confirmed.
No objections or public comments were raised at the hearing.
