Routt County approves purchase orders for detention center cameras and Cisco switch replacement

"We are looking to get approval today for 2 separate projects that are essentially related to security cameras at the detention facility," Joe said, describing the camera locations and operational blind spots the cameras are intended to cover.
Joe said the camera purchase was budgeted and not expected to require a supplemental appropriation. The switch replacement resulted from preventative maintenance by CML (the county’s detention-grade security vendor) and was recommended preemptively to avoid unexpected failure; it might require a small supplemental budget after year-end, Joe said.
A commissioner moved to "approve the award, the chair sign the notice of award, and authorize the county manager to electronically sign the purchase order for 16 additional security cameras installation in the Routt County Detention Center to CML Security LLC for an amount not to exceed $60,535." The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
A second motion to award the Cisco switch replacement to CML Security LLC for an amount not to exceed $51,100 — with a note that a supplemental budget may be required at the end of 2025 — was also moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
