Commissioners approve 2025 election intergovernmental agreement with City of Pueblo

Pueblo County commissioners on Feb. 6 approved a 2025 intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the City of Pueblo under which the county clerk—s office will act as the city—s agent for the May election.
Gavin Mulney, deputy county attorney, presented the item on behalf of the clerk, who was not present. Mulney said the clerk—s office has been notified of the election but that the ballot content had not yet been provided. He described the IGA as a routine arrangement: the clerk—s office typically handles elections for municipalities and special districts in the county and bills those entities for the work.
"The clerk's office is charged with handling elections for the various municipalities and special districts," Gavin Mulney said. "We have not been informed of ballot content yet, but they have given us a notice of election."
Commissioners voted to approve the IGA by voice vote. County staff said billing provisions in the agreement compensate the county for election-related work performed for outside entities. The county noted that similar IGAs may appear for other special districts and entities with elections in May.
