Jason Gimmer and Amy Mitchell were sworn in as Park County commissioners during the board's Jan. 14, 2025, meeting.
The oath of office was administered by Mel Clerk Castle. Jason Gimmer recited, "I, Jason Gimmer, do swear by the ever living God that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Colorado and the laws of the State of Colorado, and will faithfully perform the duties of the office of Park County commissioner district 2 upon which I am about to enter to the best of my ability." Amy Mitchell repeated a similar oath for District 1.
The swearing-in followed an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of the meeting, which the board called to order at 9:30 a.m. The board paused for a roughly 15-minute recess after the oath so members and attendees could offer congratulations and refreshments in the foyer. Meeting audio indicated the board planned to reconvene after that break.
The board noted the two commissioners had been elected in 2024 and were being formally sworn in at this session. No formal votes or motions related to staffing or appointments were recorded in the transcript segment covering the ceremony. The rest of the meeting agenda was deferred until after the recess.
