Commissioners reappoint members to Public Building Commission ahead of annual meeting

Saline County commissioners approved a resolution reappointing Public Building Commission members whose terms correspond with each commissioner’s term, officials said.
Deputy County Administrator Hannah Bet explained the Public Building Commission (PBC) was created in 2020 to help facilitate financing for the county public safety radio system. The PBC consists of five members, with one member appointed by each county commissioner for a term that coincides with the appointing commissioner’s term. Because two commissioners began new terms, reappointment of PBC members was necessary ahead of the PBC’s annual meeting on Jan. 27.
The resolution includes appointments recorded in the resolution: Commissioner Sparks’ appointee listed as Rita Dyster and Commissioner Grievous’ appointee listed as Andrew Mainly. The staff memo said adopting or modifying the resolution were the available options and that no budget impact was associated with the action.
A motion to adopt Resolution 25-24-21 as presented carried.
The PBC will meet Jan. 27 as scheduled.
