Grand County approves six-figure vouchers, authorizes publication of treasurer's semiannual report

The Grand County Board of County Commissioners approved the week's vouchers and wire payments and authorized the publication of the county treasurer's semiannual report for the period July 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2024.
Accounting staff said the week's batch of vouchers totaled just over $1,069,000. The clerk and recorder had collected $683,000 and was dispersing those funds to other governments, accounting staff said. The sheriff's office purchases included equipment such as tasers and body cameras totaling $137,000. The accounting department reported payments of about $32,000 for annual budgeting software and $25,000 for the county's financial accounting system. Additional items included roughly $29,000 for new heating and improvements at the county dance hall and fairgrounds.
Curtis Lang in accounting presented corrected bank authorization forms for the Grand County Housing Authority and asked the BOCC, sitting as the housing authority, to sign corrected standard forms to confirm account balance information for the Housing Authority's multiple accounts. The board briefly sat as the Housing Authority, approved the corrected standard forms, and returned to regular commission business.
Treasurer Marcy Wheatley presented the semiannual treasurer's report and asked the board to authorize publication of the report once in the Middle Park Times, noting the publication cost comes from the commissioners' budget. The board moved and approved the publication as required by law.
Motions to approve vouchers and the treasurer's report publication passed by voice vote; commissioners recorded "Aye" responses. Staff noted routine invoices and disbursements to special districts and that some voucher amounts represented collections that are disbursed to other governments.
